Kiama Matters Purpose:

OBJECTIVE

To provide a forum for the provision and exchange of information to the communities of Kiama township and surrounding areas including Kiama Heights and North Kiama.

Strategic Goals

1. Foster Community Engagement

- Provide a platform for the respectful discussion of ideas and exchange of information

- Maintain strong, informed, and committed community participation in decisions affecting local residents

- Facilitate and present residents’ voices in local policy and planning processes. Seek and communicate expressions of community interest and sentiment

2. Advocate and influence for Liveability and Sustainability in matters affecting local residents

- Advocate for Social and Community infrastructure alongside growth - open space; community facilities for meetings and groups, youth services; sporting fields; health services and resources such as libraries; share communications and supports for community activities

- Advocate for sustainable and responsible development that is supported by infrastructure, respects local character and heritage, and benefits the broad community.

- Advocate for environmental protec on and investment in the natural values of the area’s ecosystem

3. Collaborate with others

- Build partnerships and work with other associations and groups
